A quick post before I leave. We're going on a week-long family holiday vacation. I'll respond to questions, new members who want to join, etc. when I return. :)h

Hey all...I finally got a pair of socks done. I used the Socks in Shoes pattern with a D hook instead of the called for G hook, and German sock yarn which is alot like fingering yarn. The color is grey and they are for hubby. I was going to give them to him for Christmas, however, I wanted to make sure he'd like them...he's wearing them now and is going to test them out in shoes later. Pictures will be forthcoming tomorrow...I could get hooked on making socks...yes, pun intended.

Also got to meet Pfirsch yesterday...wonderful lady...

Here's the link to the socks I made from the Shoes in Socks pattern...hubby likes, although he says they feel a bit loose and they may not be his first choice in the morning to wear to work...but they were doable and he'll definately wear them around the house...I think he's just used to socks with elastic in the cuff...maybe I'll eventually convert him though...

May I ask where you got that yarn?

*It was nice meeting you, too, eurolyons. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bow.gif" /> One can never have too many crochet buddies.*

I believe I got that yarn at Galleria Kaufhof (for the Americans and Canadians playing our game, this is one of Germany's department stores...) It's their house label...

and I'm wearing them RIGHT NOW....oh my these feel wonderful!!!!! Better than I anticipated.

Hubby loves his...he wore his all day in shoes yesterday...only real complaint besides the non elastic cuff, was that when he went to work out, he had "waffly" feet...but he was laughing when he said that.

I'll have pictures later...woo hoo...I could get addicted to crocheting socks...:wangel

Oh I have to add...with my socks, I used off white fingering or sock yarn (German, and again Pfirsch, I think I used Galleria Kaufhof's house label yarn) and this time using the same Socks in Shoes pattern, I increased the cuff up to 25 stitches and used a #1 steel hook...they are keeping my feet warm, but not too warm...they turned out really pretty and sort of "lacy..." looking...I almost feel like I'm wearing lacy victorian gloves on my feet...I did try them in my shoes and they're okay, but I'm not sure how they would do on a volksmarche (a hike...)
