Will this felt/full?

Okay, I'm being lazy and don't want to do a swatch-

 

I won this Bear Brand Sweater and Stocking wool off of eBay. It says "Virgin Wool, Washable colors" and the instructions are wash and gently roll in a towel to dry. It doesn't say "superwash" or "Shrinkproof", etc. Will it felt?

i would be brave enough to do it.. cause if it said you could dry it then it wouldn't shrink.. i think it will

I'm guessing maybe they mean the colours won't bleed? Does it say hand or machine wash?

The yarn is vintage, so I believe it's a hand wash, no wringing, rinse several times, roll in a "Turkish" towel to dry, keep out of sun and away from heat, etc. I was going to make socks from it if it wasn't "fullable", but I guess not. I should look for some superwash for the socks. Thanks all!!

I would think because it says to keep out of the sun and away from heat that it will shrink & felt! Sounds like it's 100% wool and not superwash.

I have a ton of that yarn in my stash. I've hand washed it to be on the safe side. I believe it'll felt though, as I think superwash wool is a fairly new invention (??). I'm planning on taking my leftovers of wool & making another felted bag with it. One of these days I'll take a photo of the shawl I made with my wool .
