no the flecks are just the lining peeping thru the open clusters...thats all

Well done! Happy to hear that you had your grandma around to help you with the lining. I think a lining (with a pocket or two) is a nice finishing touch to a purse. Yesterday I lined a small purse (wish I had made it bigger) with one pocket to slip my cell into.

 

I think this pattern will be my next purse project. It's going to be red with a purple ribbon and bow. You know, we Red Hatter can't have enough red and purple.
