Need some ideas

Question

I have 6 skeins of red heart light and lofty, wine (can get some more if needed) - I'd like to make a lap afghan or something similar for our family Christmas exchange - something that works up quick and is easy. Probably something with a neat edge (or that can be easily edged) since I don't think a fringe will work with that yarn.

Yes, I know it's hard to work with, but after the boucle I think I'll be okay. :)

Anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just do it all in dc, finish off w/ a few rounds of sc, and leave it at that? That would certainly be simple, not sure how quick though.

:)

Faith

Use a large hook, like a P or a Q and it will Definitely crochet up faster... Light and Lofty is a bit thick, so if you don't want it to be really heavy, I'd say go ahead with the DC and edge in single... or try alternating for a "stripes" effect, just be careful that the SC doesn't end up too tight compared to the DC...

A P hook and sc stitches make for a fairly solid warm lapghan. I've made a few for quick wedding gifts and they are always well received. It's really nice of those RH guys to make yarn that works up quickly and looks good when you do it. <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/heartpump.gif" />

That would be nice. :)) Maybe grab a skein of a coordinating color to do a row every so often, just to make the star pop.. :ha I've got enough to do as it is!! My brain wants me to do more!!! :loco:yes
