Felted Scarf - before & after

Crocheted this scarf this weekend out of 100% merino.

 

Measure 8.5' X 9" before felting.

what yarn did u use?

Pattons (?) I think. I usually use my own handspun but DH & I were up in Madison at a conference. I hadn't brought any fiber supplies with me. When I saw another lady at the conference knitting, my fingers got to itching. DH treated me to 6 skeins of yarn & a couple hooks. What a doll!

Hey, that's pretty neat! Do you like how a scarf comes out felted? I haven't tried one yet because I was afraid it might be too "stiff".

It was a simple repeated stitch. 2 half double crochet, chain 2 across ending with half double. Next rows I 2 half doubles in the chain 2 and chained 2 over the half doubles in previous row. I thought the holes would be larger. boy is it thick!

I call it after birth. Kind of a gross analogy but... I guess that's my odd thinking.
