Increasing the Fishnet or Mesh Stitch?

ortem

Question

Hello...

I was thinking that I want to make a sort of hair net for myself but I can't figure out how to indrease (or decrease for that matter) with the fishnet or mesh stitch in a round.

Can anyone help? Thank you!

i haven't even heard of the stitch you're talking about. only thing coming to mind is filet crochet.

i have seen bun covers and they seem to use that ch3, sc in next ch3 space, repeat around type pattern. can you show me an example of net stitch?

ortem, sorry you haven't had your answer yet. . .

I've never done this myself, so I'm only guessing; but if it's the sort of stitch Shell mentioned, just basically chain-loops anchored with an sc into more loops on the round below . . . couldn't you increase by working an extra X-chain plus sc into the same loop on previous round? And decrease by working the sc "anchor" as an sc decrease over 2 loops?

Smiles,

Whoops! That is the terminology that I learned form the "Happy Hooker". Yes... that would be Filet Crochet. Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm going to try the technique that you mentioned.

Arigato!
