Crochet with ribbon?

The other day, on a whim, and because I happened to have an unused spool of ribbon lying around, I decided to crochet myself a scrunchie with ribbon. Well, it would have turned out better if I hadn't run out of ribbon *g* But has anyone else tried this? I'm thinking it might look especially neat if I added a few beads, and maybe some ribbon streaming down the back-- perfect for a little girl.

Some ribbons make nice crocheted flowers. I just finished crocheting some package toppers with gift ribbon. That was a fun project:)

I haven't tried yet using ribbon, but i imagined a project would really turn out nice. I hope you can show photos of your ribbon crocheted projects. i would love to see it.

I haven't tried crocheting with ordinary ribbon...I think it would make a cute bag, etc. The only ribbon I worked with was the thin and fun-colored Lionbrand "Incredible". I made a belt with it.

I've made several scrunchies with those spools of satin ribbon and they've worked out nicely. And beads make everything better as far as I'm concerned.

Crochet with ribbon sounds like a good idea. But will satin ribban be ok to work with? I guess a purse would look cute. Or flowers too.

That had crossed my mind, but if you add up yardage)if you want to do something large) isent it very expensive? Seems like I had done this but I dont remember. I have 7 skiens of incredible tht I got on sale and have started several things with it and just cant get what I want going, ya know? Although a belt sounds nice.....what pattern did ya use rachel?

I've made a couple of bracelets and a choker using satin ribbon. They turned out quite well. I put beads on the choker and the little girl I gave it to loved it =)

I've made a flower with pink ribbon and a slightly different color worsted weight pink yarn. It looked really pretty. I've also made fringe with satin ribbon, which turns out really really pretty.

I recently posted a pic of a winter hat I made that alternated rows done with ribbon and rows with yarn. It came out cute.

My local Michaels' always has a bin of clearance ribbon for $1 a spool, up near the registers. Maybe your does, too? This topic has inspired me to ransack it! I saw lots of spools of the same color, so coming up with a decent amount wouldn't be too expensive, that way...

This is going to sound weird but i made a tree jumper for an exhibition(yep sweaters on trees) and i made a crochet freestyle jumper that had ribbon in it. It looked fantastic.
