12" Granny Square scarf?

Has anyone ever made a 12" granny square scarf? That's what i'm making, it's so wide, lol. Is it really practical? I've made one square so far, blocking it as we speak, i'm looking at it and thinking, should i continue? Just looking for input.

12 inches does sound like it might be a bit large for a scarf. Maybe you could try making some 5 or 6 inch squares? That might work better for this kind of project.

I've done a square scarf that ended up (I think) about 8 inches wide, total, and I think it was about as wide as I'd make one. I think 12" might be a little big, but that's JMO.

Hi, I agree, 12" is too wide. You're making the Victorian Dream square? maybe knock-off the last 2 rounds. Try a smaller hook or a thinner yarn, too. That might help.

I finally printed out that square...I've been wanting to make it for awhile now. (It's on my site, after all!) I've made a grand total of one scarf...but I do think a 12" would be a little too much.
