Hello fellow hook workers (ooo, do I dare say fellow "hookers" tee hee hee). I am brand new to crocheting ... I am enjoying it and find it very soothing in these "interesting" times. I am a 73 year old female, a wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandma.  In my previous years I worked as an educational specialist.  

Since I retired I have been quilting.  Now I am adding crocheting to my repertoire.  I am not certain what type of hooks are best ... I have slight arthritis in my hands ... I do like the wood feel but have heard that other hooks may be better.  I would appreciate suggestions.  At this stage I am glad to make a single crochet ... but I do have fun hopes for more variety in the

future ...  thank you all ... I look forward to "talking" to everyone!

Hello from Mississippi!

Hook brand is just personal preference. There are a number of ergonomically designed ones. It also partly depends on how you hold the hook--knife or pencil style--which is also personal preference.
