Baby Cardigan

ZPenney91

Question

My friend is pregnant and I'm thinking of making her a cardigan for when the baby is born. It'll be my first attempt at a cardigan and I'm wondering if anyone has a simple pattern for one.

Any help would be massively appreciated! ☺

Welcome to Crochetville!

Here's some newborn cardigans at ravelry...

I see that you're from the UK. The patterns above are mostly in US crochet terminology. Here's a link that explains the differences. It's easy to convert the patterns.

Redrosesdz, linking to a filter on Ravelry's pattern page doesn't work for non-Rav members.  It takes you to Ravelry's sign-on page (I could have sworn it used to take you to the pattern page without any filters, they may have changed something)  You can link to individual patterns on Ravelry for non-members, though.

Zpenney91, I personally think raglan style is the easiest because there's no seaming, or kimono style for the same reason.  Here are a few-

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cardigan-188

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-bear-cardigan

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cluster-yoke-cardigan  This looks fancy, but it's not a difficult stitch

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-its-cold-outside Baby it's Cold Outside is an easy Kimono style and seemed to be pretty popular a while back

There are bunches more.  I think if you're not a member, once you are in the pattern area via a link to a single pattern, you can create your own search to explore on your own, like narrow down the type of yarn, free or not, etc.  There's also an area where people rate how easy a pattern is)
