Thank you so much!  Years ago I made dolls using a balloon and paper mache for the head.  I made the faces, and they are not pretty.  And they are all the same. Fortunately, they didn't need to be. The one I am finishing up now is like the nesting doll, using construction paper and a hole punch. At least the dots are round.

I made the dress first and made the doll to fit.  I ran a pipe cleaner up into the hole in the bead and down into a spool  I glued the spool onto a piece of cardboard to stabilize it.  There are some instructions on the internet using pipe cleaners for the whole body.
