Things for baby question

alp1

Question

I have not crocheted baby items before and am thinking things like bibs and booties would be good take along projects when traveling.  My questions is:  are crocheted bibs and booties things moms would like and use or are they not practical for daily use with babies?  Have not had any babies in the family for a long time so I'm not sure what moms today find useful.  Extended family members are expecting babies in the new year so your opinions will be appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Patty

Bibs out of cotton and booties out of acrylic are excellent things to make!

Here are some others (all acrylic) ...

Afghans

Hats

Sweaters

Sleep sacks

Layettes

Toys, like a square with an animal head for comfort

Cotton ...

Washcloths

If you want to make a squeaky toy, get a dog toy from a dollar store and use the insert.  To make a rattle insert, there are lots of homemade ideas on the web.  I bought a pill box and a mini pool table at the dollar store.  I put the mini pool balls in the box and taped it up tight.  It made an excellent rattle.  My grandson is 8 months old and the rattle/squeaky toy I made is still his favorite.
