Ideas for 4 year-old boy

I hope this is the right place and all that. Anyway, my sister is pregnant, which has naturally put me into a crocheting mood. But it's still a month or two until we will know the gender, and I'd rather wait until then to start making things for it.

 

So, in the mean time, I'd like to make some things for my four year-old nephew. But it's spring so hats and scarves are out, and he doesn't seem to like stuffed animals much (except for throwing ). Soooo...Any ideas?

 

I'd say my skill level is intermediate, btw.

What does he like?  There are patterns for farms, for animals that are puzzles, for cars, etc.  The other day I ran across patterns for cars that actually move.
