help reading a pattern

I have found this pattern that i want to dp . I am just a begginer to crochet so waa wondering if some one could help me with step two and three .i can do chains dc and st .thank you any help is apriciated xx

I too am new to this whole crochet stuff and I didn't want to read and run hunnie,  I find watching YouTube Tutorials help me.  I hope you manage to get the help you need! The ladies on here seem to be so lovely x

Kathy, do you think this is a diagonal box stitch pattern?  It looks more like a cluster stitch of some kind.
