Is this crochet or Knitted?

pippi_longstockings

Question

I found this beautiful throw online, but I am not sure if it is crocheted or knitted. Also, the yarn used, I never seen before. I am not looking to recreate the blanket, I just want to know if the blanket is knitted or crocheted. I am new to crocheting. Therefore I am trying to tell the difference between if something is knitted or crocheted.

Thank you for your help.

There may be some duplication, these are 2 searches - 1 for ripple, 1 for chevron afghan.  Have fun looking!  They are fun to make, the main thing is you need to make sure your stitch count doesn't drift, or your waves won't line up.

Thank you, I would like to make a blanket like this but I did not think you could do it with crocheting.

Oh, yeah - you could totally crochet it.  From a distance you'd never the difference until you looked really up close at the stitches.  Except that knitted would be a thinner or lighter of a fabric.

I saw funky yarn similar to that the other day in a craft store but didn't take note of the brand.  Mary

good to know. Because this blanket is beautiful. I found out this blanket is by Colinette. It is Colinette Absolute Fabulously Blanket. The blanket comes in a kit with a pattern and the yarn. It cost $190.

No I signed my name.  I don't know the brand, it was a mixed funky yarn like that someone has out right now.  If I am at the craft store and see it again will jot down the name and post.  Mary
