New book for me - 24-Hour Crochet Projects

Woo hoo! I got a new book today called 24-hour Crochet Projects. It has some very neat little projects! I think my first one will be this "Glittering Gold Shawl"! I just love getting new books!

I have had my eye on that book as well. One thing I am curious about, do they mean that you will be crocheting for 24 hours on the project (meaning it would take me about 12 days because I only can find 2 hours or less a day to crochet) or it can be ready in a couple of hours and you can use/wear/etc the next day?

The projects are 24 crochet hours or less. What is neat about it, is that it gives an estimate for each project for about how long it would take to finish it. For example, the shawl I want to make first is estimated at 17 hours.

Just a word of warning, the shell baby blanket, 24hrs? NO WAY! I have put in more than 3 times that and I am about 1/3rd of the way done. Just a warning! Great patterns, but I don't know who times some of this stuff!

I was wondering about some of them. When I start trying some of them I will let you all know how accurate the timings are. I'm not super speedy but I'm not super slow either.

I am pretty speedy .. I just recieved this book yesterday and was looking through it thinking there was no way some of it would take THAT long LOL.. so i guess its all about how fast you are.. will let you know as i crank things out as well !

I LOVE this book. I have made the halter and sweater set (I need to get a pic of it for here). Plus Many hats from this book.

 

Its very easy to understand, etc.

Maybe the length of the starting chain of the blanket is wrong. I am using the hook and yarn size recommened and this thing is over 5 feet from side to side.
