I'm not sure if I'll be making anymore of these too soon. The black thread was a little hard on my eyes!:blink So I gave this one to my hubby (halloween is his favorite holiday and I figured he might be able to incorporate it into his magic somehow!)

Legs: make 8

Ch 20, 3 hdc in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across. Leg will curl. Attach one leg in stitch in each of rows 4, 6, 8 and 10 on either side of the body. Weave in ends.

Alternate attachment for legs: ch 20, sl in stitch on side of body in row 4 6, 8 or 10. 3 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, and in each chain across. Tie off with a very tight square knot and trim as close as possible. Repeat for other legs attaching in same rows on other side of body

Tassel: I used champygirls directions for this one, however, you can use your favorite method. Cut a length of thread approximately 100 inches. Fold in half. Sl st in underside of body, sc in each chain across to end, leaving about 5 inches. Cut 10 10 inch lengths, pull through last chain, incorporating ends of chain. Loop over all and pull tight.

Alternate: use white thread for the chain/tassel to make it look like he’s beginning to spin a web.

Feel free to print this out for your own personal use. You may sell the completed item, however, please take your own pictures…they may actually turn out better than mine! Please do not sell or print this pattern for other uses. Thanks!

He's a cute one for a spider! Black is difficult to work with, did you put a light color behind your work? Thank you for sharing.

yes, I had a piece of paper behind it...with my eyesight, it's hard anyway with some of the smaller stitches. I wear progressive lenses, but still have to take my glasses off and work close up!
