Threadbared - funny site with old pattern pictures

I stumbled across this site and spent most of yesterday reading the entries. Lots of kitchy crochet and knit pattern pictures (no patterns, just the pictures of leaflets) with irreverent stories and comments, like the one for the crocheted steering wheel cover. I love looking 60s and 70s crochet patterns.

I checked this out some it is funny. I can't believe some of the styles.

I was a teenager in the sixties. So , mini skirts were in. You wouldn't have caught me in a mini skirt. Although I did have the figure at that time I had walking pnueumi and lost a bunch of weitght.

But some of those styles are coming back into fashion again:yes PINKROSES

Well, I hate to admit it but I probably have some of those patterns. If not exactly the same, very similar.

My dear Aunty Rose, gave me a lot of old patterns when she was down-sizing from a house to a small flat.

They certainly are a time-warp, especially the hair-dos.

I did not actually laugh, just had a nostalgic smile and a little tear in the eye, remembering way back when.

There must be hundreds or even thousands of those doorstop poodles around the place as every home had one back whenever it was.

They covered a bottle which you filled with sand, so the door would stay open. Sometimes they were made as a cover to put over a bottle of wine when giving a bottle as a gift.
