In worsted weight yarn...4mm hook

 

Rnd1:ch2 4 sc in 2nd ch from hk.join (4)

Rnd2:BLO 2 scin ea st around. join (8)

Rnd3&4: sc even around join(8) stuff

Rnd5:dec around join (4)

Rnd6:sc around join (4)

Rnd7:3sc in ea st around join (12)

Rnd8:ch1 sc in same st & next 2 sts,scBLO,sc in 5 sts,1scBLO,sc in last 2 sts join (12)

Rnd9:ch1 sc in same st & next st,1 scBLO,sc 1 st,1 scBLO,sc in next 3 sts,1 sc BLO, 1 sc ,1 sc BLO,sc in next st join(12)

Rnd10:repeat rnd8 (12)

Rnd11:ch1 dec 1 st in same st as ch1 & next st,sc in next 5 sts,dec next 2 sts,sc in next 4 sts join (10) stuff

Leggs:

Rnd13:ch 1 sc in joining & next 4 sts join to fst st(5)

Rnd14-22:sc around fasten off.leaving 6" tail

Second Leg:

Rnd1:join in fst rem st and sc around to last st sc last st& pick up lp of leg just made& sc tog join to fst st(5)

Rnd2-8:sc around fasten off leaving 6" tail

Arms:

Rnd1:pick up lp at under arm&sc,sc in ea lp around join (4)

Rnd2-5:sc around,fasten off leaving 6" tail

Repeat same for other arm

weave tails through sts and pull tight and fasten off,pull tails to inside limb and trim

Hair:For hair cut straands of yarn(depending on boy or girl)to desired length,use 2 strands for ea unworked lp on head,putting hook from back to front.

Face: embroider eyes & mouth.

no but with a bit of modifacation barbie doll clothes will work ,just make them shorter. If you go here there are all kinds of patterns just make them shorter http://shiwri.mybesthost.com/ then click ABCentral Free Patterns and go to map, hope this helps
