I often wonder (doily edging)

why I sometimes do the edgings on doilies that the pattern calls for. I am on the last round of a doily I was very excited to make. It has 8 hearts on the outside that I had to crochet seperately (need to start reading those patterns all the way through and NOT do the ones that are not one piece. ) and I am about halfway through this last round.

 

I'm thinking now that I could have thought up a faster way to finish this thing off then the picots they have written in.

 

Just a rant. I'll post it's picture this afternoon - if I ever finish it.

Don't get me started on picots! I once almost started a gorgeous doily until I noticed the amount of picots in it!

 

I don't like a bunch of attaching, either.

Oh I hate doing the last round of a doily. I think it's something about being almost, but not quite, finished. And the anticipation of seeing the finished doily all blocked. For the last three days now, I've been trying to finish the last round of my doily for the swap and it really seems as if I'll never be through.

I'm SO glad I'm not the only one! I think picots just ruin the flow. That's why I don't like them. I should have finished it off with a nice shell or something.

 

Oh well. It's done and I'll post a picture tonight after I iron it.

I totally agree with you about the picots:lol! I don't mind them a bit when I'm using yarn..but with thread!!!ugh! They can really be a pain:hook
