what detergent can i use for handwashing an old blanket?

It appears to be acrylic red heart. I want to handwash just to be extra safe. What do I use to clean and restore it to optimum newness? Woolite for delicates or maybe washing soda? Thanks!

If it's acrylic, any detergent should be fine. I would not use one with bleach in it.

I just use my regular Tide HE on the gentle cycle for acrylic crocheted items. A generous addition of fabric softener also adds cuddle-ability! Even Supersaver gets softer and softer with each washing. If it is an item that winds up in the wash often, Woolite can't hurt as it is a little more gentle. But 100% acylic is a pretty durable yarn.
