Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn (like Red Heart Supersaver yarn)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 10”h x 10”w inches or 6”h x 6”w inches

Note: If doing 6” square follow direction for Rnds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, then do AltRnds 8, 9 10.

Different Stitches:

Treble Crochet (TC): Yarn over twice, insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 more loops, yarn over, and pull through last 2 loops.

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join with sl st to first sc.
(6sc)

Rnd 2: Ch1, 1 sc in front loop of same st as joining, [ch3, 1 sc in front loop of next st] Do this 5 times, ch3, join with sl st to first sc.
(6sc, 6-ch3 spaces)

Note: On Rnd 3 your working into the back loops left free from working Rnd 2 in front loops only. Do not work in any of the sc and ch3 spaces made on Rnd 2.

Rnd 3: Ch1, sl st in first free back loop, ch1, 2 sc in same back loop, [2 sc in next free back loop] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 4: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, [ch3, 1 sc in next st] Do this 11 times, ch1, join with dc to first sc.
(12sc, 12-ch3 spaces) (ch1 + dc counts as first ch3 space)

Rnd 5: Ch1, 1 sc in first ch3 space, [ch3, 1 sc in next ch3 space] Do this 11 times, ch1, join with dc to first sc.
(12sc, 12-ch3 spaces) (ch1+dc counts as first ch3 space)

Rnd 6: Ch1, 1 sc in first ch3 space, [ch3, 1 sc in next ch3 space] Do this 11 times, ch3, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc, 12-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 7: Ch3, 1 dc in same st as joining, (1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) all in next ch3 space, 1 hdc in next st, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) all in next ch 3 space, 2 dc in next st, (2 TC, ch3, 2 TC) all in next ch3 space, [2 dc in next st, (1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) all in next ch3 space, 1 hdc in next st, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc) all in next ch 3 space, 2 dc in next st, (2 TC, ch3, 2 TC) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(8sc, 12 hdc, 24 dc, 16 TC, 4-ch3 spaces) (60sts total) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Note: If doing 6” inch square scroll down to AltRnds 8, 9, and 10. They will be after Rnd 13 of 10”inch square.

Rnd 8: Ch4, skip next st, 1 dc in next st, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st] Do this 5 times, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space, {1 dc in next st, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st] Do this 7 times, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, 1 dc in next st, ch1, join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch4.
(48dc, 28-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Ch4 counts as dc and ch1)

Rnd 9: Sl st in next ch1 space, ch4, skip next st, 1 dc in next ch1 space, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 4 times, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space, {1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 dc in next ch1 space, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 6 times, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch3, 2 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, join with sl st to 3rd chain of ch4.
(68dc, 24-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Ch4 counts as dc and ch1)

Rnd 10: [Ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 5 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next ch3 space, {[ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st] Do this 3 times, [Ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 6 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, [ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st] Do this 3 times, ch3 join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 9.
(48-ch3 spaces, 48 sl sts)

Note: On Rnd 11 you’re working into the skipped ch1 spaces, skipped stitches and the corner ch3 spaces on Rnd 9. Do not work into any ch3 spaces and sl sts made on Rnd 10. Rnd 11 is written as if working on Rnd 9 with no mention of sts of Rnd 10 until you get to the corner ch3 spaces (on Rnd 9). Example: 1 dc in next ch3 space, ch3, skip sl st, 1 dc in same ch3 space.

Rnd 11: Sl st in next ch1 space, ch3, 1 dc in same ch1 space, [skip next st, 2 dc in ch1 space] Do this 4 times, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in next ch3 space, ch3, skip sl st, 1 dc in same ch3 space, {1 dc in next st, ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st, ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st, ch1, [skip next st, 2 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 6 times, [ch1, skip next st, 1 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in next ch3 space, ch3, skip sl st, 1 dc in same ch3 space} Do this 3 times, [1 dc in next st, ch1, skip next st] Do this 3 times, 2 dc in next ch1 space, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(80dc, 24-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces) (Beginning ch3 counts as dc)

Rnd 12: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 9 sts, [ 1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 sc in next st, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch3 space, { 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 sc in each of the next 11 sts, [ 1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 sc in next st, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 sc in next st, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 13: Ch1, 1 hdc in back loop of same st as joining, 1 hdc in each back loop of the next 18 sts, (1 hdc, ch2, 1 hdc) a1l in next ch2 space, [1 hdc in each back loop of the next 30 sts, (1 hdc, ch2, 1 hdc) all in next ch2 space] Do this 3 times, 1 hdc in each back loop of the next 11 sts, join with sl st to first hdc,
(128 hdc, 4-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.

The following Rnds are if you’re doing the 6” inch square, you should have Rnds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 done.

AltRnd 8: [Ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st] Do this 6 times, {ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st, [ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st] Do this 7 times} Do this 3 times, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st. join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 7.
(32-ch3 spaces. 32 sl sts)

Note: On AltRnd 9 you’re working into the skipped stitches and skipped corner ch3 spaces on Rnd 7. Do not work into any ch3 spaces or sl st made on Altrnd 8. Alt Rnd 9 is written as if working into Rnd 7 with no mention of stitches on AltRnd 8.

AltRnd 9: Sl st in next skipped st, ch3, skip next st, 1 hdc in next st, [ch1, skip next st, 1 hdc in next st] Do this 4 times, skip next st, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) all in next ch3 space, {skip next st, 1 hdc in next st, [ch1, skip next st, 1 hdc in next st] Do this 6 times, skip next st, (2 hdc, ch2 2 hdc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, skip next st, 1 hdc in next st, ch1, join with sl st to 2nd chain of ch3.
(44 hdc, 24-ch1 spaces, 4-ch2 spaces) (Ch3 counts as hdc and ch1)

AltRnd10: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 5 times, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, {1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 6 times, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) a1l in next ch2 space} Do this 3 times, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in next ch1 space, join with sl st to first sc.
