After this attempt, I think I will be making several more hankies for DD and myself. (I just wish I could find the plain white hankies in the mens dept. at WMart, as I did a couple years ago (when DH needed some) instead of cutting the squares myself! oh well. )

 

DD, after I showed her the edging, asked if this one was for her. I used the flutterby edging pattern (via crochetpatterncentral), with size 10 white crochet thread and pink sewing thread (incidentally, the same pink thread in my not-so-blue rose doily). here's a close up of one corner...

Beautiful hankie! I just love making them. In fact, a few yrs ago when I was going thru menopause, I made myself several & a liittle purse to put them in. I figured that if I had to have hot flashes, I might as well have them in style.
