Materials:

Size 10 thread
Size 7 steel hook (1.65)
A bead or a couple of pony beads (optional)

Finish Size: About 31 inches long.

Directions:

Part 1: leaving a 6”inch tail ch276.

Note: For a bigger or thicker book you may want to chain more. The red/white/blue bookmark and white bookmark I chained 326.

Part 2: Sl st in 2nd chain from hook and in each of the next 23 chains. Fold the 24 sl sts you just made in half. Sl st next chain and first sl st made together (this will form your loop), sl st in each of the remaining chains. Finish off leaving a 6”inch tail.

Slide bead (or beads) onto bookmark.

Tassel: Cut 8-12”inch pieces of thread, insert hook into last sl st made, fold pieces of thread over hook, pull up a loop (with pieces of thread), take hook out of loop and pull loose ends through loop and pull taut. Make a knot to secure tassel (optional). Trim tassel to make sure it’s even or to desired length.

For Use: Stick bookmark in book with loop being on top. Pull tassel through loop. This will help keep the bookmark in place.

Enjoy!!!!
