A quick question about the stitch: when you are making the dc in the skipped stitch, do you insert the hook from front to back, like normal (which somewhat encases the first stitch)? or do you go around behind the first stitch to make the second one? I hope my question makes sense! thank you!

Adagio, you make the stitch as normal and yes, it will encase the first stitch a little. This is what gives the nice texture.
