Comments received in Doctor's office today

My husband went for his usual visit to his diabetic eye doctor specialist today. I went with him as the doctor's office has moved from their former location. My husband wanted me to know where and how to get to the new office. I took my crochet work with me to work on while I was waiting. While I was sitting in the waiting room busy with my crochet two people at different times commented on my crocheting. The really nice thing about both situations was I was not asked "What are you knitting?" or "Look, she is knitting." Instead both people recognized that I was crocheting and not knitting. That gave me a warm feeling. :yes:yay

Good! I am always correcting people - my standard response is, "the only thing that knitting needles are good for is poking people." They get it and don't make the same mistake twice. I am proud to be a crocheter and not a knitter

Hee, Hee!!! Awesome!! Everyone also refers to my crocheting as knitting also. Not one person has ever actually called it crocheting.

That's neat! We went to MI last month to visit family, and on the plane ride home, the woman next to me asked what I was crocheting. I told her that not too many people recognize it as crochet and she said her mother does. She said she thought crochet looked nicer than knitting and that it makes nice, cozy afghans. I was so happy to see someone recognize it for what it is! LoL

Hooray! That's great! My ex-boyfriend always called my crochet "all my knitting stuff":rolleyes. Notice I said "ex" LOL Even my three year old grandson calls it crochet. "Grandma's 'shay' "
