Hi, I was getting some dragons done, using my own "Yellow Dragon" pattern and while working on the wing part inspiration hit. I thought to myself the wings sort of look like stairs when turned at a certain angle and thought it would be neat if I could incorporate it into a square. After a few trial and errors to get it squared I finally came up with this. If anyone finds any errors in the pattern please send me a pm. Thanks. :hook

Note: This square can easily be adjusted to be any size. To make a smaller square just minus by 2 chains, to make a bigger square just add by 2 chains. Just make sure you chain ½ inch (or inch depending on your gauge) shorter than the actual size, to make room for the border.

Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn in three different colors (CA, CB, CC)
Size G hook
Yarn needle

Gauge: 4sc=1”inch 4 rows of sc= 7/8” of an inch

Directions:

CA Side:

Row 1: Ch25, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, and 1 sc in each of the next 23 chains, ch1, and turn. (24sc)
Row 2: 1 sc in each of the 24 sts, ch1 turn. (24sc)
Mark Row 2 as Right Side.

Row 3: 1 sc in each of the next 22 sts, ch1 and turn. (22sc)

Note: You will be leaving 2 sc left undone, you will be decreasing this way every other row until you get to two sc. Then you should have a jagged like triangle when done with CA side.
Row 4: 1 sc in each of the 22 sts, ch1 and turn. (22sc)
Row 5: 1 sc in each of the next 20 sts, ch1 and turn. (20sc)
Row 6: 1 sc in each of the 20 sts, ch1 and turn. (20sc)
Row 7: 1 sc in each of the next 18 sts, ch1 and turn. (18sc)
Row 8: 1 sc in each of the 18 sts, ch1 and turn. (18sc)
Row 9: 1 sc in each of the next 16 sts, ch1 and turn. (16sc)
Row 10: 1 sc in each of the 16 sts, ch1 and turn. (16sc)
