Knitting Needle Size?

There is something you can buy from walmart or any craft store. It's called a guage (hee hee, I think). It's got a line of different sized holes with numbers above them. You just stick your needle into each hole until you find the hole that the needle fits perfectly into then you should know the right size. I'm betting they probably included size 8 needles with your kit though. Most knitters start out with either an 8 or 9.

Walmart sells the boye brand knitting needle gauge check. My circular needles don't have any size on them. When I have to use them I just use the needle gauge to see what the size is. I hate it when needles don't have the size on it. These needle gauge checkers should only cost like $3 at Walmart.
