Need some help!

My sons teacher asked if I would like to teach the kids in her class how to crochet. There are several interested including 3 boys!!

 

I would love to pass this on to them but can't afford to buy those hooks. I live in a rural area and I know that some of these kids parents can't afford them either! I would need about a dozen "H" or "I" hooks to get them going.

 

I am going to donate the yarn from my stash. I have plenty of that. If anyone is interested in helping me out, please PM me and I will give you my addy! Thanks in advance!!!

I'm sorry I can't help you but why don't you write to Susan Bates or Boye and maybe they would donate some hooks to you.

Do you have a freecycle group in your area? Mention there what you are looking for and you'd be surprised what people will come up with. Might get yarn and who knows what else that you could use.

Freecycle is a good idea. How about sending a note home with the kids and asking if someone at home crochets and has hooks they'd let the child use?

I did that at my daughter's school. The kids were required to supply their own hooks. I brought in a few extras and some yarn but we had the kids supply a skein and an H hook.

 

You are already supplying the talent. There's no reason that you should have to supply all the materials too.
