Talk to me about the 4.5 hour afghan!

Have you made one? Did it really go that fast? I was thinking about making something to donate to my daughter's school, but I didn't want to spend days and months and years on it.

 

What was your take on the 4.5 hour afghan?

If you mean the lion brand one with homespun yarn I think they are very easy and a Q hook makes it go fast. I would say though if you have not worked with homespun at all to try a small swatch first to get a feel for it. A lot of people don't like it because they can't see the stitches but I just feel along and count my rows good to make sure. I have also done the waterfall afghan and it went fast and that blue looks so pretty, also uses a Q hook. Mary

I made the 5-1/2 hour throw from Lion Brand with 3 strands of Jiffy and a Q hook. It took a few days but then I don't get 5-1/2 hours to crochet in one day. I think it took me just as long to crochet the thing as it did to make and attach the fringe. Fringe is such a pain.
