Question about dishcloths

cdgayer

Question

Can I use crocheted dishcloths to wash dishes, or are they just for decoration? I have some sugar and cream cotton yarn and I wanted to make something I can use, not just look at.

Thanks for your help!:D

I use mine all the time to either wash dishes or clean the countertops. I love them! :)h I stick them in the next wash usually to keep them clean, which means they're never as pretty as they were before washing. But that just means you can make more. :) I love dishclothes as a quick project and there are so many patterns available, your supply is endless.

I use them all the time. They are so fun.

WARNING: Sometimes the patterns that look like doilies, Like these are in danger with my husband who can't tell the difference and uses REAL doilies, like these to wipe off the counters, and I find them filfthy, and wadded up in the sink!:mad

So, a word of warning, tell the hubby, and anyone else, the difference so this doesn't happen to you too :hug

I've made several dishcloths from that cotton and given them to my whole family - we all love them. They really clean well. I have made face cloths too and you can't believe how incredibly soft they make your face feel! I make little sachets and soap savers from it too! Dar

I made this Bath Mitt this weekend out of Lily Sugar Babies yarn. It is similar to Sugar'n Cream but finer and softer. I have noticed now that they have removed that yarn from the site and no longer make it I guess. I am able to find it at some Hobby Lobby's. So if you see this yarn stock up, it may not be around anymore. It is so soft and I loved it so much that I am making bath mitts for hubby and me (with out the cute face and ears!) <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />
