I just saw these today - there really isn't much to them. No beading on the ankle part and very light (almost sequiny - beading on the top). I'm tempted to just order one to see what its like

I bought some on clearance last year at Penney's in the mall, so I could copy them. I think there are sites you could probably get free patterns, too.

I have been making my own version of a barefoot sandal for what seems like months now. I knew it was only a matter of time before one of the stores/catalogs would pick them up.

hmmmm - now to come up with the next "hot" item.

There are a few here:

I actually saw some very similar to these in a boutique type store around here:

These are close to the Avon ones only a lot more airy/open with:

With these type sequins on them:

My mother in law brought me a page out of the book yesterday to show me the crocheted foot thong. I tried to find it on their site but couldn't, not even with a search.

So if you get a chance to look at a booklet, check it out.

I saw it too, and couldn't wait to find a pattern and make some of my own.. Even my 12 yr old daughter is excited about making them.. only with beads.

These are the ones that I made in the middle of spring.. lol

I had to redo part of it. On this pattern, it says to put the beads on last for the top part of it. Well, for me, that just did not look right, so I had to re-do the whole thing. I ended up putting the beads on the top part right at the beginning of it. Turned out much better, and the beads laid down much better.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is what I've been trying to make. I just posted about it a few days ago about trying to find the thread and elastic in the "crochet thread". I bought mine from Avon and they are so cute. It took me a couple of days to figure out how to make it, but I finally did.

I made mine with regular cotton thread, but I believe they would be so much nicer if I could find the rayon thread. It says that it is 100% viscose (rayon) and are made in China. Avon's has more stretch to it than cotton thread.

My only problen is finding the thread and the colored elastic that goes around the toe and ankle.

Any suggestion where I might find these two items?
