Yarn help

What do u do to find the center pull in a skein of yarn? I always have problems finding the center pull, and I end up messing up the whole ball of yarn!

 

Anyone has any tips on finding the center pull easily?

hmmm. not really.

if it's a 'commercial' skein - make sure your top outer thread has been pulled out and then go fishin

If I cant find the center pull easily I just pull out a small wad from the center of the skein - it's always in there somewhere!

i have found that there is usually a "soggy spot" (just a little bunch of yarn that isn't wound as tight as the rest). i insert a finger in each end and turn it around until i find said soggy spot, then i pull that out. voila!

 

that said - there isn't ALWAYS a soggy spot, but most of the time i can find it.
