Need help! Using new yarn

Recommended Posts

I just got 8 skeins of chenille thick and quick and 3 skeins of Patons lacette and don't know what to do with them. I have only used yarn like Red Heart before. Can I make more than just scarves with these yarns?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I made two blankets with the chenille thick and quick and hated it. The blankets didn't really hold up to my liking but the recipients loved them. The lacette might be good with a simple shawl pattern but not sure if three skeins is enough.

Chenille should be used in tight stitches so it doesn't worm (crawl). I have some Thick & Quick I want to make into seat cushions for the kitchen chairs. I plan to just do single crochet rows. I'm going to experiment and see if I can do it double stranded, and if I have a hook big enough.

I've made my DD two purses out of chenille, one with thick chenille, and one with thin. She loves them and gets compliments every time she uses them.

thanks for the ideas. I did find a few patterns I liked using the chenille. But, can you crochet with the Patons Lacette? I have only found knitting patterns for this yarn. Any idea what I could do with the Lacetter? I have 3 skeins. Thanks again for the ideas.
