Soap Savers/Sachets

I have been noticing more and more how nice the soap savers are. I've never recieved one, but have printed off a few patterns for them. What I was wondering was with the soap in them, do you use them like that? or is it primarily for decoration only? I think it would be pretty cool using them with the soap in them.

...the ones that Grandma had at the house we used. They were very pretty made out of cotton thread. She would put the slivers of soap that you always get when it is almost gone in them.

My mom made one for everyone in the house and we just toss a bar of soap in and use them!

The ones I make hold a bar of soap just perfectly! We use it just like that and it feels wonderful too!

They make lovely gifts with a nice handmade bar of soap in it..

dorothysgirls made a TON of them for me to hand out to wounded warriors..they love them... it keeps the bar personal and easy to keep up with

this would be good for camping too. i remember as a child my family putting a bar of soap in a panty hose type knee high. and hung it from a nail on a tree. the nylon of the hose provided the scrubby part and it was nice to wash your hands. so if you go camping, maybe make one with a long handle to hang up.

WOW! I kinda thought you would use it with the bar soap in it, but wasn't real sure. Iguess it could go either way. I think since everyone gave me some ideas, I think I'll be making some as gifts or possibly for charity. And of course some for me.
