I found this baby sweater on a crochet blog and knew I had to make it for the mother of a newborn who wants to learn how to crochet (she's a knitter) so she can make granny squares.

 

The video, although I didn't understand most of what she was saying, gave me a good idea of how it's constructed. Thanks "crchetfool" for posting the link.
