Average Head Size?

I am looking into buying a hat mannequin - can anyone tell me the "average" size of an adult head? I never realized that there were so many sizes of mannequin heads...lol...I don't want one of every size, just one.

Well around the thickest part of my head, it is 21 inches. Dunno if that will help, but I thought I would give it a shot.

My adult hats are 21-22 inches.

I just measured mine ~ it's 22".

 

When I make necklaces, and I want them to be with no clasp, they have to be a minimum of 25" to get them off over the head because of hair and ears ~ but bigger than that is better.

 

So, at least you'll know you don't want anything as big as 25".

Here is link for a mannequin I bought and she measures 22", I use her for my hats, I did have to get wigs seprately but works very well.
