You could probably do it in filet if you like. Just have to calculate the number of chains for 100 open meshes,

 

whether you want 3 edc/dc or 4 edc/dc as the block.

You can make it any size you want. Are you treating each square as 2, like each square equals 2 dc? This will double the height and width of the piece. Let me know if you need more help.
