Custom made hooks

Over the holidays, we went to an Inn and the owner is working/turning wood. He made some really pretty <a href="http://www.quebecweb.com/lacotedor/images/image2003_01.jpg" target="_new">pens</a> with precious wood and antlers so I challenged him to make me a few hooks. He accepted. <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/dance.gif" />

 

I should get them in a couple weeks, I asked for one in purpleheart wood. I can't wait to see them... and to show them!

I was a little disappointed because I really wanted a purpleheart one. It will give me an excuse to get one from TOTC.

5mm Canadian birdseye maple

6mm Canadian black walnut

7mm padook, african orangewood

 

I already made a slipper with the 6mm and I really like working with it.

If you don't mind me asking, what did he charge you?

 

As far as pics go, if you've got some sort of photo program, you can take it in and reduce the size there. (I usually take mine in to paint shop pro to reduce them and change the format because my camera program saves them as bmp's.)</span>

Thank you <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/thanks.gif" /> for the tip, I resized the picture I think it is better this way even if is it too bright. I am still experimenting with my camera.

 

He charged me 15$ CDN for each hook plus 6$ CDN for shipping. In US$, it would be $12.30 for a hook and $4.90 for shipping.

 

They are signed I think it is pretty cool! Do you have TOTC hooks, does he sign his?

I tried them yesterday and made a pair of slippers with my 6mm. It works great.<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/clap.gif" /> It is lighter than the ones I usually work with (metal) so I had to get use to it.

 

I like them. I don't know if he enjoyed his experience but you can contact him and ask if he would make more. His name is Jean-Michel. Somebody at the inn should speak English since their <a href="http://www.quebecweb.com/lacotedor/artisanata.htm" target="_new">website</a> is bilingual.
