alternative to "bought" hair

For a charity (Operation Christmas Child) I am crocheting a 15" doll ... will post a pix when done, of course ... but the pattern (from a Workbasket magazine) calls for purchased yarn hair to sew onto the head.

 

No way! I want to crochet the hair ... any suggestions? I need to be able to have this completed by Nov 10

thats my b-day! for hair try folding a piece of yarn in halr, catch the loop through the haed with your hook, pull ends through loop, secure with small amount of glue if needed, then fray out the ends(unwind it so the fibers are seperated). PM if you have any questions.
