Three bags/purses

Now that my swap partners have received what I made for them, I want to share them here. I've recently become pretty enthusiastic about making purses, and all three of these are lined--the only bags I've ever lined.

This is the Quahog Beach Bag, from a pattern by C'ville's own Selena K. I crocheted it with jute twine, but crocheted my handles from hemp instead of using ribbon.

This one is the Sunny Destination Bag from the crochetme site. I used a very soft and shiny yarn--I can't remember the fiber content anymore, but it was part cotton. This bag is lined, too, but I never took a picture of the lining.

And finally, I made this felted purse without a pattern. I'm really getting irritated with flickr because it won't let me rotate a picture--gives me an error every time. Sorry about that--tilt head to left to view, like a smiley! :-) This purse has a lining, too, AND closes with the first zipper I ever sewed in. I was very pleased with the way it came out, and only sent it somewhat reluctantly to my swap partner. (Just kidding, Rachel--I made it for you, and I'm glad you like it.)

I still want to make more purses...this is fun, but I'm not sure why.

Very nice! I've been wanting to make that quahog bag since she posted it here, but I've never lined anything and have been scared off by that. Yours is inspiring me to give it a try, however. That Sunny Destination tote is my favorite of the three--the color is just wonderful. Patty
