Ram horns?

I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to post this. Excuse me, I'm new.

 

I'm making a baby hat for my friend and their team mascot is a ram, I'd love to make a ram hat for the little guy. I've got the ears all figured out... but I'm lost on how to do the horns.

Just off the top of my head---crochet in the round like making a tube and gradually decrease to the tip? Stuff them and use a coated wire or pipecleaner for shaping? Then sew on to the hat. I'd have to try it out to see if that would really work. Must be something safe to shape with....

Like feeder said, make a cone shape in sc, but to form it to give them a curved look like ( ) I'd make some of the stitches on the outside of the curve in a taller stitch for a few rows, maybe even some of the stitches on the inside of the curve a slip stitch.

i would do the crochet like they said and or maybe make it out of something stiffer like thread that you could stiffen, or even ww cotton you stiffen up some

Thanks! The idea of doing a small cone and slip stitch on one side was my original idea.

 

None of my friends crochet - so it's lovely to have a place to talk to people.
