  1. I have the floor model and it is very "light" so to speak . I can easily move it around. It is good to work by but also for mixing colors. You can see the true color of something like in bright daylight.
  2. Combining other ideas, how about a motif bag of some kind?
  3. Recently here a woman was told to stop feeding her baby or leave the indoor water park. She was covered but an uninformed employee made her stop. It is against the law to prevent a woman from breastfeeding in public here. Honestly all the other people swimming were much less covered! Even Michelle Duggar does it on camera walking around in a public place. She's covered by a blanket but its pretty obvious what's happening. But I don't see how making your baby's head look like your boob hanging out helps the cause. Most women want to go about it unnoticed but that just shouts "Look at me!"
  4. Try sitting at a table with your elbows resting on the table for a while-a knitting teacher told me this .
  5. http://www.ravelry.com/groups/crochet-on-ravelry The group on Rav called Crochet on Ravalry has a chat room but it is not very active. You just have to check in once in a while to see if anyone is chatting. Sometimes if members see there is someone there they will respond. Or you can post a thread asking for chatters at a ceratin time. At the top of the home page click on the Groups button and it will offer you a search page. Enter a key word for what you are interested in and it will bring up choices for you to look at. There is a group for everthing!
  6. We draw names for next year on Christmas day so I have started! I need to make 2 afghans and one is many squares so I'd best get going. I also don't like doing afghas in summer!
  7. Agree! Hope it wasn't something really really wonderful! Something else to watch out for when choosing yarn is the difference in thickness in different colors of the same yarn. Frustrating when it is really noticable and you can't use the color you want. Is it the nature of the dye?
  8. Pretty! The man has a good eye for color!
  9. I want to find a button to wear that says " This is crochet!" The other day I had a friend say "Oh there she goes" when I pulled out my yarn. But a little later she saw my completed hat and said "Is that what you just started here?!" One more hat for the homeless and I didn't waste my hour just sitting like they did.
  10. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shawler-shawl-with-sleeves How about the "Shawler"? I've made this and it's very easy.
  11. In the photo that features the afghan, check out the small side table next to the rocking chair! It's covered in something crocheted with pom pom edging.
  12. Love this cute little pattern! It's a zipper pouch like a pencil or make up case. Here's the pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/free-cat-bag-crochet-pattern
