Charmed Knits

Hi,

I checked out a new book from the library called "CHARMED KNITS: PROJECTS FOR FANS OF HARRY POTTER" by Alison Hansel. There are alot of cute projects, including a pattern for a Molly Weasley housecoat. All of the projects are done in knit except for this one, where the the arms are done in crochet and the body in knit. I thought I could try and convert some of the simple projects into crochet.

The book has color photos of the completed projects, diagrams of the pattern pieces with measurements, materials that are needed, well written instructions (even though I don't knit at this time I thought I could have easily picked up a pair of knitting needles and had a go of it), and a section for knitting and crocheting techniques.

Alison Hansel has a blue blog at alison.knitsmiths.us.

I looked through this book the other day in the book store.

A lot of it is generic and the book isn't assoicated with the movie or Rawlings. Hence the generic terms like House Colors and House Sweaters.

It's a fun book to look through. Especially if you knit, can convert to crochet, or design from just looking at pictures.

:)
