C hook - what yarn

i have found a pattern i want to make and it calls for a C hook, but does not tell which yarn.....

would this be fingering? would the lustersheen work ya think?

 

Gauge: 28 sts and 9 rows = 4â€

Size “C†(2.75 mm) crochet hook, or size to give gauge

I would use any yarn I would like for the pattern, and use the hook size that would give the correct gauge.

Although if it's a blanket, I never check the gauge. I just do my own thing. Haven't had a complaint yet.

Yep, that gauge sounds like fingering or sportweight. However, I use a ~3.25mm hook for socks in sport or fingering weight, so your gauge may vary
