what yarn are you using and what size hook have you got? if your yarn is to chunky the pattern will come out larger.....and using a smaller hook may not work.....work up a gauge swatch and see what difference the size is to the piece on the pattern. most patterns say to work a gauge swatch....see what yours says....:)

You'll either need a smaller hook or you'll need to alter the pattern. An F is much larger than a C and you won't be able to tighten your gauge enough for the pattern to work.

A C hook with the baby sport weight may work, but you'd definitely need to do a gauge swatch first. And I'd think a B would be too small to handle the yarn, but if it could, that may help you get your gauge.

Good luck!

Another problem you may find with using a heavier yarn and a smaller hook is that the resulting fabric will be denser and not drape as nicely. Definitely do a test swatch first to see if what you come up with is even acceptable to you before you invest in the time and energy to make the sweater.

Most of the Walmart stores will carry Bernat Baby in the fingering weight. Look for it by the Baby Sport, the skeins are smaller and run under $2.00. I travel all over the country and have never had a problem finding it at Walmart.
