    Since I was 8...so since around 1985?
  1. Ooooh, so sweet! I can't wait to see it in your laceweight!
  2. Absolutely stunning! And alpaca has got to be my favorite fiber. Do I have 13 skeins laying around somewhere?....*goes to look*.....
  3. I feel your pain. I'm working on commission to turn a doily into a tablecloth with no pattern. I just had to frog around 30 hours work because my circle was no longer laying flat and was just getting worse. This was after 2 separate single row frogs like the one you described (each row taking around an hour and a half at this point). I wanted to cry. Ah well, the new pattern will go faster at least.... doesn't make it any easier to bear though....
  4. I'm on Ravelry too. Same username.
  5. Yep, tried Celt's Vintage Crochet. That tablecloth pattern on FinePatterns is beautiful, but I think that the slanting pineapples would look weird with the regular pineapples I have. But thanks! Jackie
  6. I've been commissioned to turn someone's grandmother's doily into a tablecloth, but I don't have the original pattern, so I'm starting from scratch. I'm hoping someone out there recognizes it and can help me locate the original pattern so I have somewhere to start. Or, if you maybe have something similar I could use to cut and paste with what I have? Anyone?
  7. These are great! Thanks for posting! Between a husband who is overseas and a friend going through radiation, I'm sure this pattern will get a lot of use! Thanks! Jackie
  8. I have a friend in my Stitch 'N Bitch group that tests all of my patterns for me. She has found skipped lines of instruction and spelling errors before, so I'm extremely grateful that she's willing to do this for me. So far, none of my customers has informed me of further errors. *fingers crossed* Jackie
  9. I could never crochet left handed. I can't do much of anything with my left hand! I teach lefties mirror-image as well. Instead of across a table though, I get up close....knee to knee....and I tip my crocheting down so they can see "my" side of the crochet so they know what it's supposed to look like. Otherwise, they're looking at the back of my work and it's more difficult. So far I've had really good luck using this method. I'm teaching another leftie on Tuesday though. I'm always nervous that this will be the person I can't teach! (Never happens, but I always get anxious!)
  10. I'm in Sioux Falls! kmeiding, my sister-in-law works at Daktronics. We have a Stitch 'N Bitch group here in Sioux Falls if anyone is interested. Jackie
  11. I have a friend who did lose her yarn in a house fire. Let me tell ya....be sure to save those receipts! Her insurance company didn't believe the prices of some of her yarn, so she wasn't properly reimbursed. But the good news is, if you keep the receipts, you would get a whole new stash! I've only dreamt of crochet (or knitting) when I'm on some kind of deadline or struggling with a pattern design. I'm actually surprised I haven't had one recently as I've been trying to write a couple of new patterns and they're giving me a bit of trouble. I don't remember any specific dreams. I believe most are just me working endlessly and waking up tired. lol!

    Oreo Cookies

Very cute! What a great, quick pattern! Hmm....think this would work for all those times my daughter asks for a cookie? Jackie
  13. OMG they're so freakin' cute! I love the colorwork on their sweaters and hats! Great job! Jackie
