Can someone explaine this to me?

Charm

Question

im working on this rose blanket

http://www.caron.com/projects/pm/pro_pm_rosetrellis.html

im having trouble understanding rnd 8

Rnd 8: On right side, join Color B bet any 2 petals in a sc, * ch 5, yo twice, insert hook in sc bet next 2 petals, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw thru 2 loops on hook twice. In same sp, (yo twice, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw thru 2 loops twice) two times more, yo and draw thru 4 loops – cluster made.

i know what its asking me to do - with the YO and such, but the way this is written, its making my brain hurt :lol and its not looking how it should.

is there a simple way to explain this to me?? :think

thanks

They want you to make 3 (3-Tr clusters in) every other space between the petals. These will form the corners of your squares and become leaves on your square.

In single crochets between the petals you will work

sc(start) ch 5 and work[corner cluster set] in next space between petals, ch 5, sc between next petals, ch 5, [corner cluster set]

and so on

Your corner cluster set is (a cluster, ch2, a cluster, ch 2, a cluster)

I can post a pic tomorrow if you need it.

I'm so glad that you're attempting this pattern. I tried it a few months ago, and completed one--yes, just one-square. I think there were mistakes in what I created, but it was pretty. My brain also hurt from trying to figure out this pattern. I wish Caron would've had a close-up photo of the afghan. It's a really pretty afhan. Good luck to you! I'll look forward to seeing your completed work.

here you go... This shows it from the back

the corner from the front side

This shows the square from the front with the "leaves" surrounding the flower

It would be clearer when you put the rest of the rounds on to separate the leaves.

thank you darski ! that makes so much more sense now!

if they would have said do a triple crochet instead of all the YO moves i would have gotten it (i think heehee)

i know i will keep coming back to this page to make sure it looks right.

Tonkamama- i wish they had a close up of the pattern also!

i'll be sure to post a few squares when i get some done,

im doing them in different blue colors.
