How to join crocheted rings?

I have been crocheting over plastic rings and have almost all of them done. My question is, how do I attach them all together. I saw a pattern for a belt done with these kind of rings in a book that a friend had but I can't seem to find it now. I just want to be sure that all the links are securely attached to each other. Any ideas?

I was looking at a book which I think was called Crocheted Jewelry. She had crocheted rings together by simply single crocheting around one and then picking up the next ring and crocheting around it so that in the end they were all linked together.
