Anyone who has a 3 yr. old

Is there anyway possible that you can measure your 3 yr old from the shoulder to the waist and around the chest please? I am making my god son an tank top(finally) and I want to make sure I get this right. I'm also going to make him some shorts and if you can measure around the waist would be great please. Or if you know of a website that has these measurements I would really appreciate it.

I don't know if this would work but, what if you measured a shirt that fits him well from underarm to hem? Would that work?

Well he wasn't terribly willing but Nathan (3 1/2 and kind of tall I think) was about 11 1/2 inches from shoulder to waist and 22 and a half around the chest. I'll try again when he's not mad about it anymore just to check.

OK 20 around the waist, more like 21 inches at the chest. I offered chocolate and he was putty in my hands!

I would be more than happy to help, but my three year old isn't a "regular size" three year old. She is only in 2T clothing and has the typical Down syndrome build. Good luck though!
